Dot NAME Domain Names

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic extension is the only one planned for personal web pages only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to purchase john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular prerequisites on who can get a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
